OVERVIEW

Monday Action Quads is is a 3-round US Chess-rated event open to all scholastic players (grades K-12). Players are grouped into Quads, sections of four players with similar ratings, ensuring balanced matchups and an engaging, competitive experience.

This event is a qualifer to the Tournament of Champions. More on the TOC below.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

• Participants must be members of US Chess.

  • Need a US Chess Membership? Purchase through the CCC and save!

• Open to K-12 participants (ages 17 and under)

• Limited to first 42 to register.

• Online registration only.

• Registration closes 15 minutes prior to round 1 if not already full.

HOW IT WORKS

• 3 US Chess rated games every Monday night.

• Quad format - students placed into groups of 4 by their most current "live" US Chess regular rating to ensure closer matchups.

• Quads are for students (K-12) only.

• IMPROVE - Game Analysis and Blitz with CCC coaches.

ROUND TIMES

Round 1: 6:30pm 

Round 2: ASAP

Round 3: ASAP

Approximate End Time: 8:30pm

TIME CONTROL

G/20; inc/10

20 minutes per player plus a 10 second increment per move.

PRIZES

• Medal to winner of each quad
• This is a CCC Grand Prix event!

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

This event is a qualifier for our Tournament of Champions event. Players who score a perfect 3-0 performance in any quad qualify to play in the TOC!
