This week's event is only open to 16 players due to the CCC's Empower Youth Internship meeting.
OVERVIEW
Under 1000 Sundays is a free, 1 round per week, US Chess rated tournament for K-8 children, held every Sunday at the CCC's Main/South Charlotte location.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Open to K-8 participants (ages 13 and under)

Players must be rated under 1000

Unrated players who wish to establish a rating are welcome to play.

Participants must be members of US Chess.

Need a US Chess Membership? Purchase through the CCC and save!

Limited to first 40 players to register.

May be limited to 16 players when the Empower Youth Internship meets

Registration closes 30 minutes prior to round 1 if not already full.
HOW IT WORKS

Students play one rated game per week.

Each registration is only for the next round.

The event is submitted for rating monthly on the final Sunday of the month.

Students may choose to get their game analyzed by a CCC coach.

TIME CONTROL
G/35, inc/10
35 minutes per player plus a 10 second increment per move.
PRIZES
The top player in each section will receive a trophy!

SPECIAL NOTES

Tournament Directors will accelerate pairings to pair players close in rating when possible.

Most recent "live" US Chess regular ratings used for all sections to ensure close matchups

This is a monthly tournament - the rating report is submitted on the last Sunday of the month, and a new event begins on the first Sunday of each month.

All players must use CCC equipment - weighted sets and digital clocks provided

Players who no-show forfeit without notice may not be permitted to play in future events.
